This children book by artists Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin is an A to Z introduction to British Sign Language. It pairs images drawn from Getty’s extensive archive with a series of photographs demonstrating corresponding signs; together, the words and pictures form an absurd, nursery rhyme-like narrative. The book was devised in collaboration with the staff and students of the Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children. The book design by A Practice For Everyday Life pairs greyscale images with clear, characterful typography and a range of vibrant spot colours throughout the book.
